Sherman Oaks is centrally located and therefor attractive to those who desire suburbia while still being close enough to the city of Los Angeles. The area is divided by Ventura Boulevard, which boasts plenty of parking and endless shopping, restaurants, strip malls and fitness studios. If you live close enough to the Blvd., there is no need for a car to do errands or grab coffee or a smoothie. South of the Blvd. quiet tree-lined streets are tucked in to gently sloping hills where large upscale homes typically overlook the Valley, an especially nice view at night with the twinkling lights of vibrant nightlife below. This neighborhood has a reputation for excellent schools and recreation. Transportation to and from Sherman Oaks is made possible with easy access to the 405, 134 and 101 Freeways. If you don't want to take the freeways, Sepulveda Blvd. takes you over the mountain and through to West LA's Wilshire Blvd. or you can leave the driving to someone else and catch the LA Metro bus system and/or the Metro Rail.
